Sega have registered the website domain www.dawnofwar3.com, presumably in advance of a new Space Channel 5 game announcement.
OK, so it might well mean a sequel for Relic’s muscular strategy game is on the cards—Company of Heroes 2 was a while ago, after all. Whois Lookup states that the domain was registered back in 2011 by Sega of America, and updated on March 26th of this year. Meanwhile, the registrant’s email address appears to be that for Relic’s IT department.
While Sega could just be registering the domain to protect it from squatters, a couple of years ago Relic did say that a new entry in the series was a “strong possibility”. If you’re wondering why you should be excited about a third Dawn of War, then you should grab the first and second games on STEAM while they are on sale.
If you ever fall victim to a scam on Steam in the future and end up losing in-game items as a result of it, bad news I’m afraid. Valve have now shifted their position on item recovery; basically saying they will no longer do it.
“We sympathize with people who fall victim to scams, but we provide enough information on our website and within our trading system to help users make good trading decisions. All trade scams can be avoided.” Valve said about the change, also noting that rollback that add more of an item to the pool of items decreases the rarity of the items in question.
They have a point I must admit, but something about this still makes me feel a little uneasy. Maybe that’s me just seeing the negative though.
Steam recently sorted out their refund policy after years of it not really having much of one. It’s now possible to claim a refund for a game, as long as it’s within fourteen days of purchase and less than two hours have been played.
Sounds pretty fair, but indie devs are beginning to complain that some unscrupulous gamers are taking advantage of it, by buying games, playing through them in less than two hours and then getting their refunds. Essentially, they claim that gamers are playing their full games for free, and if that’s true it’s not good.
Qwiboo, developers of Beyond Gravity, and Puppygames, developers of Revenge of the Titans, are two of these indies, who have backed their claim with graphs. And truthfully it does seem that they have a point…
It’s sort of worrying if this is a trend that is going to keep up. Hopefully Valve will tighten the rules to stop serial committers of “refund demos” before it costs a small indie studio their livelihood.
Original: It’s not an official announcement, but MSI is boasting that they’ll have Final Fantasy Type-0 running on their GS60 Red and GS70 Silver laptops at their Computex booth. Given that those are both PCs, it would suggest that Final Fantasy Type-0 is coming to PC.
Originally a PSP game, Type-0 is a mission-based RPG with occasional bits of RTSing. It was recently re-released in an HD version for the non-portable consoles, so a PC version would make sense. The trailer below confirms that, yes, Type-0 is pretty much as weird as any other Final Fantasy game, and I can’t wait to play it 😀
One of the best parts of GTA 5 on PC is the mods. This time, we’ll be checking out a mod that allows you to control the water in the game! No water? Lots of water? WAY TO MUCH WATER? This mod does it all. As a bonus, it has added sea life!
