Gamestop Gat offer “not real” says Deep Silver

Some of you in the US might have seen the price Gamestop is currently offering on their US store page for the upcoming Saint’s Row standalone game: Gat Out of Hell. It’s been up for over a day and seems too good to be true… and it most probably is according to a tweet from someone in Deep Silver’s marketing and PR.

Currently the game is being offered for a staggering $4.99 instead of the RRP of $19.99, and obviously a lot of people have taken them up on this deal. After all, most other retailers have stuck to the RRP and we all know that we love a bargain, given the populariry of indie game bundles and the Steam Sales. However, Will Powers (Deep Silver PR & Marketing) has warned that the orders won’t be honoured.

The deal news had spread like wildfire across the Internet obviously, but although the price remains the same on the Gamestop page Deep Silver have dismissed the offer as fantasy.

Take advantage of the deal if you feel it’s worth a punt, just don’t be surprised if when the game releases you might be required to cough up an extra $15 to get your game.

Dying Light sees physical copy delay outside US

One of the games due to release this January is Techland’s zombie survival parkour game Dying Light. However while the digital copies will make it to the virtual shelves everywhere for the release date of January 27th, regions outside the United States are going to see a short delay on physical copies for console and PC coming to the actual shelves.

The announcement was made via the game’s official Facebook page and reads:

“There will be a short delay in the release of physical copies of Dying Light in Europe, Middle East, Africa, Asia and Australia.” stated the announcement. “The game will have a global digital release on PlayStation 4, Xbox One and PC of January 27, 2015. As physical production has a longer lead time than digital there is some delay in the aforementioned territories. We will share information on the availability of physical copies as soon as it is confirmed.”

There hasn’t been a date set for when to expect the physical copies to arrive in these regions either, so if you want to gain access sooner rather than later think about acquiring the game digitally.

Game Trailer: Saints Row IV: Re-Elected & Gat out of Hell – Launch Trailer

Deep Silver’s new standalone Saints Row game is due out any day now. And to celebrate, a launch trailer has been released.

Done in the style of a TV infomercial, it’s very, very Saints Row. I won’t spoil it all but it does feature an awful lot of groinal assaults, as well as giving us a peek at what we can assume will be the opening cinematic.

Check it out below!

Sony to go ahead with DCUO Name Reclaim 2015

The game of DC Universe Online is beginning a bid to free up account names, clearing out those used by inactive players so that they can be chosen by new active ones. If you’ve not logged in recently, make sure you do by January 20th to keep hold of your name.

Sony Online Entertainment are going ahead with the process, hoping that more new players will be able to find their perfect name for the character they will have spent a good while creating if they’re anything like the majority of gamers presented with a character creation page. “Finding just the right name for your character can be tough, especially in a game like DCUO where millions and millions of characters have already been created, locking up their millions of names. It’s even more frustrating when the character with that perfect name you want hasn’t logged in in years or never even made it off of Brainiac’s ship. That’s where we come in.” wrote community manager Mepps.

The inactive accounts that will be affected by this are the ones that haven’t been touched since July 20th 2013, which will leave the accounts intact, bar a rename. A few days later that name will come into circulation again to be used at the character creation page or the name change service.
