Backers of Wasteland 2 were recently informed that the final version of the game is slightly delayed. The team reached out on Kickstarter to inform their fans and explain that instead of launching in August 2014 it would likely release in September. Chris Keenan then went on to explain about the early access that was available on Steam for backers and to explain what the game’s development has done for him personally. Quite simply he had this to say on Kickstarter:
“We are still improving the game on the way to our release date. So with the update after this one, you’ll get all of the fixes and polish that is ongoing, which will have a day 1 update for physical disc backers. If you’re receiving your copy in a digital format, the first download will be for the day 1 update and final game. “
The developers also detailed a few of the changes that would be implemented in the patch for physical backers and that the digital backers would experience when the game drops;
When we pulled the changelist from our source control (since the last update), it was 551 uncurated PAGES of bug fixes, polish and iterated features. This list has been reduced down and can be read in its entirety (but why would you want to do that?!?) here. Some of the main things you’ll notice in this build:
Huge balance pass across all elements of the game
Enemy AI/Enemy Stats/Damage/Weapons/Dropsets/Skill Use
Added a mini-map
Lots of new optimizations to memory and load times
Tons of new UI improvements (visual and functional)
New audio added across the board (weapons/enemies/ambient/player events)
Large visual effects pass in all levels
Oh-so-much general clean-up/polish and iteration
So look to the second week (or there about) of September to be receiving digital and physical copies of the final game.
Destiny is Bungie’s upcoming First Person Shooter, and in many ways it also draws on the role playing game genre with gear, a level cap and, it would seem, a lot of revisiting the same stages.
Recently it was revealed that you can go beyond Destiny’s level cap of 20. When you hit level 20 you will stop collecting xp points, instead the xp you would of collected is turned into “motes of light” which you can use to craft special equipment which boost your characters stats to push your abilities beyond that of a level 20. Designer Sage Merril has said that once you reach level 20 the game is yours, you can pretty much do anything and everything in the game but some raids will take several attempts and a great deal of skill unless you use the motes of light to build bigger and better gear to push yourself beyond the level cap, so far the highest level gear that has been seen was by IGN at level 29.
Spilt Milk Studios are responsible for the 80s action-move inspired shooter game Tango Fiesta, a four-player indie love letter to the movies where an action hero might spray bullets everywhere to hit a single enemy just because it looked cool. And now it’s new update is going to bring along six new enemy types, five new bosses, four new weapons and a whole new game world.
With wonderful names such as Lockjaw, Dr Fahrenheit and Snowflake the bosses all have weird and wonderful back stories to justify their rise of villainy, and the four new weapons are just as likely to cause your teammates pain as your enemies.
The full list of changes is linked below. Are you persuaded to pick up this game with the new content coming soon?
A new cinematic trailer has been released for Bungie and 343’s upcoming Halo game, The Master Chief Collection. The trailer depicts some of the cutscenes from Halo 2 remade by Blur for the game; to give us a glimpse at what we can expect to see from the collection.
Nintendo have announced a new event Pokemon giveaway that will occur in the US later on this month.
On August 13th, two special powerful Bug-types will be available for players, a Heracross for Pokemon X and a Pinsir for Pokemon Y. Neither Pokemon will be holding an item, but both will be Lv. 50 and have a set of powerful moves. Receiving the free Pokemon is done by connecting your 3DS to the Internet, select the Mystery Gift on the main menu, select receive gift, select get via Internet then speak with the delivery girl at any in-game Pokemon Center to receive the gift. Viola, free Bug-Type.
And if you wish to enable their Mega Evolution they’re being given away at participating Gamestops from August 18-31, in the form of download codes. They’re also offering free posters to anyone who pre-orders the new Sapphire and Ruby remake games in-store.
I personally think Bug-Types are sometimes underrated as battlers. Are you thinking about grabbing a free Heracross or Pinsir?
