Destiny’s closed beta will land on Xbox One and Xbox 360 in “late July”, a trailer for the game has confirmed.
The date suggests that the beta will arrive on Xbox platforms 1-2 weeks after it hits PS3 and PS4 on July 17. To access the beta you’ll need to pre-order the game and register the code supplied by participating retailers.
Destiny releases on Xbox One, Xbox 360, PS4 and PS3 on September 9 alongside a fancy new white PS4.
Well this was a surprise. Sometimes when you see a trailer for a game, the genre and gameplay you see hints at it coming out on certain platforms. This was the case for most people when they saw the trailer for No Man’s Sky at E3 a few weeks back. The multiple-planet, open-world, sandbox game seemed like it was a definite for PC-gamers.
Yet the team behind the game have revealed that not only is the game to début on the Playstation 4, there’s no guarantee of a PC version becoming a thing at all. In an interview with Eurogamer the co-founder of developers Hello Games, Sean Murray, said that they would like a PC version to become available.
“If I’m honest, we’re taking on quite a lot at the moment,” says Murray. “We’re definitely coming to PS4. I would like to come to PC. Whether that arrives the same day – we’re a small team!” And indeed they are. While it’s often said that the group is made of just 4 people, the team has grown to number ten. Bigger than is thought but still a smallish team for a game of this supposedly limitless scope.
While it’s a disappointment to find out that this game isn’t currently coming to PC for sure, this sort of game does have quite a big audience in the PC market and the gamers who are a part of it. It wouldn’t be a big surprise if a PC version is developed, even if it’s released a little while after the PS 4 début.
Behaviour Interactive posted up a ton of marketing/gameplay videos today, plus a HUGE FAQ for the game and Founders packs…
Lets start with the videos:
Now, onto the FAQ and recommended requirements are:

Now, did everyone else notice that? 8Gb RAM?!? What game needs 8 bloody gigs of RAM?!?
So yeah, the founders packs and initial store items…
Founder packs come in three varieties: Warrior, Sergeant or Captain. All of them come with a game key and four character slots ($40 value) as well as Founder program exclusives including Rogue Trader Points (RTP), Pre-Launch Game Access, Early Game Module Access, etc. And you can see them all here

Yes Captain pack owners start in the first of the three phases of Early Access roll out, but what else?
Well honestly, not much that I (or Digmbot) can see looking at the webpage
Now I admit, we’re AT LEAST a year away from release, but am I tempted to buy a founders pack?
Yes, but not the main factions, instead, I’ll be buying the £5.00 Ork founders pack instead
You can see all the founders pack options here
So, I’m still really interested in the game, I’ve been following Warhammer 40,000: Eternal Crusade for ages now and what Behaviour Interactive has shown so far is looking promising, but the pricing is a worry
After having already failed to make TV set-top boxes and Google-powered TVs attractive to punters, Google is planning another attempt at cracking the living room. The company is working with partners to produce several television set-top boxes that run its Android software, let users view content, listen to music, and play games on their television sets, according to people familiar with the matter.
D’oh! Someone should tell people responsible for security in major sporting venues that effective security begins at home. Just four months after the US Super Bowl scrambled to change its wireless credentials after CBS broadcast video which captured an SSID and password, now Brazil have performed a similar bungle with the World Cup security centre’s WiFi credentials.
Local news outlet Correio Braziliense received permission to attend the security centre in order to take a picture of head of international cooperation, Luiz Cravo Dorea, standing in the multi-million dollar security centre, to be included in an article later published by the paper. The centre is used to watch video feeds from surveillance cameras around the event’s venues. Unfortunately the picture revealed more than the operating firm, Risco of Israel, bargained for. In the background of the pic, an interactive whiteboard gives details of the system; and on the quadrant closest to the camera; it is possible to read the SSID “WORLD CUP” and password “b5a2112014”, leet speak for Brazil 2014.
The picture subsequently hit Twitter, where it received over 2,300 retweets. So that’s everyone who still supports England after our disastrous World Cup performance this year, then…
