Evolve’s DLC maps will be free say Turtle Rock

Evolve is getting a lot of people hyped. The idea of the 4 vs 1 where the four fight the one playing the ‘boss’ monster is very appealing and enormous fun to play. The studio behind it Turtle Rock have also made their position on DLC clear – they don’t plan to charge for new maps but they will for new hunter characters and monsters.

Explaining their position in an interview with IGN, creative director Phil Robb says that it’s to do with keeping the community together. “We never want anyone to get booted off of a server because they haven’t bought something.”

Although new hunter and monster characters will be available for purchase, that’s not going to be an issue for matchmaking either. “if you don’t buy them, if your buddy wants to buy the DLC, that’s cool, and your game will be enhanced through his purchase… So, you won’t be able to play as those characters, but you will certainly be able to play with those characters.”

It seems like a good way to handle multiplayer with DLC, and makes me even more excited for the full release of the game in February next year.

GTA V’s new track list revealed

Although us PC gamers still have months yet to wait for a version of GTA V on our preferred console (seriously, it’s going on my Steam Wishlist asap), the next-gen/current-gen versions of GTA V are due to be released on the newest console this week. They’re enhanced just as the PC versions will be so they let us see just what can be expected from it.

The first-person view has been trailered and shown off many times through Let’s Players on Youtube, in chases, fights and even sex (that last one is bound to cause some controversy). Also re-done is the amount of traffic, the foliage and the wildlife you can expect to see, along with the songs on the radio stations. A lot of new ones have been added and thanks to Pitchfork we now know what music to expect.

Battlefield: Final Stand releases November 18th for Premium members

The last piece of DLC for Battlefield 4 is releasing soon, with a date set for a November 18th launch. At least, it will for Premium members, non-Premium members will need to wait until December the 2nd.

The DLC is named Battlefield: Final Stand and will bring with in ‘future’ tech, four new maps and a load of snow in its locations. Expect hovertanks, railguns and all sorts of other weapons and vehicles that seem to have taken inspiration from Battlefield 2142.

BF4 final stand

As for the new maps, they’re all snow-covered. Operation Whiteout takes place in a blizzard in Siberia, Hammerhead pits soldiers against each other in a submarine base, while Hangar 21 takes place in a hi-tech military base and Giants of Karelia a mech factory with a big open space making up the surrounding area.

A full list of what can be expected hasn’t yet been revealed but dataminers have already found the data for a compound bow that uses explosive bolts in Battlelog.
