Minecraft Not Banned In Turkey After All

minecraft-logo

It seems Minecraft won’t be banned in Turkey after all. A spokesman for the Turkish Embassy in Washington D.C. has said that the ban is “out of the question”. According to Christian Science Monitor, Fatih Oke said:

A ban is quite out of the question. There will be no ban. The game is not banned and is not going to be banned, the Family and Social Policy Ministry does not have that kind of authority to ban any product. I understand that this is what has been said in the Turkish media, but it is incorrect.”

This, of course, follows some rather interesting reports from the country earlier this week claiming that Minecraft would be banned due to its violence. Advocates of the ban claimed that the game encouraged kids to inflict pain on animals, bullying and social isolation.

Fortunately, it does seem that the agency doesn’t have the power to carry through this ban.

#PAXEast2015: Street Fighter V given release time

The latest Street Fighter game, Street Fighter V, has been given a release date by Capcom. The news came in the form of a PAX East merchandise advertisement, mentioning the release time for both the PC and PS4 version which will feature cross-play functionality.

The game itself was unofficially announced through a game trailer that was accidentally uploaded a little bit too early. After a few days Capcom decided to formally announce that the game was being made, with a demo of it being shown in action at least year’s PlayStation Experience. The advertisement though has revealed more, most importantly that Capcom is aiming for a release time of somewhere in the early part of 2016. The cross-play functionality will allow players on both platforms to interact and play matches against each other.

The Capcom website says of the game “Everyone is fired up for Street Fighter V, coming to PS4 and PC next Spring.”

Greetings fellow Hearthstone players and enthusiasts, I have some fantastic news to share with you.

The Blizzard team have announced a new Hearthstone adventure at Pax East this afternoon; Blackrock Mountain.

HS Blackrock title

Just like Naxxramas before it, the new adventure has you tackling a classic Warcraft themed raid, going up against bosses with unique battle styles. You can play with your own decks in Normal and Heroic mode, and pre-programmed decks in the Class-specific mode. Each new wing will become available on a weekly basis.

The Blackrock Mountain expansion boasts 31 new cards to unlock, 3 card backs and a Ragnaros fire themed board. The new cards are based around the awesome, magnificent, amazing DRAGONS! You will be able to build a dragon-themed deck, complimenting the legendary dragon cards already available.

HS Blackrock here be dragons

To unlock the first of the three card backs, you need to reach rank 20 or above in Ranked play during the March season. The second is available when you pre-order Blackrock Mountain, and the third is yours once you beat all the bosses in the expansion.

Turtle Rock offer gold monster skins for play this weekend

The Turtle Rock developers while making Evolve added in a special identifier for when they played in-game as the monster. The special Turtle Rock Gold Skin was added specially for members of the development team so they could identify each other and also as a way to feel good about what they’d developed.

This weekend however as thanks to the support the community has given the game so far, Turtle Rock are making that skin available for players to get. It’ll be totally free to get and requires only that you play a few rounds of Evolve between Thursday March 5th 9:00pm PT and Sunday March 8th 9:00pm PT, and you’ll receive the TRS Gold skins for Goliath, Kraken and Wraith for your account.

The skins won’t be received right away they say, but they aim to deliver them sometime after the weekend but before Sunday March 14th.

Turtle Rock also plan to issue challenges and events in future to allow players to earn more rewards in-game, although the only hints we have about any of them is that the next event coming up will be the “St. Patrick’s Day Trapper Challenge”.
