Game Trailer: Lara Croft and the Temple of Osiris

This game is the offering to all the Tomb Raider fans annoyed that the new game in the rebooted series is to be an Xbox exclusive. It’s a sequel to the Guardian of Light game, a two-player co-op that was relatively well received by the fans who got to play it. It’s also a corner of the franchise that the reboot never actually touched, so this is the original classic Lara Croft you’ll be playing with.

The game will be a four-player in a similar vein to the previous game, containing all the puzzling, fighting and other elements that made Guardian of Light a decent game.

Ubi committed to engage with PC says European boss

Ubisoft isn’t popular among PC gamers. I know this from listening to our station manager list their sins quite a bit. Bad ports of games originally on consoles, uPlay being a necessary element of actually being able to play any of their games and their stance of DRM hasn’t exactly endured them to many other PC gamers either.

However European boss Alain Corre says that the publisher is committed to improving how they deal with support for PC. He says that Ubisoft is already on track to making sure that the company has the support of the gamers for the platform through one-time activation for the PC games and by releasing games at the same time across all platforms, and that they are taking feedback from their players seriously.

ubisoft

“We recognise the importance and needs of PC gamers, and want to continue to improve how we create and support games for PC,” he told MCV at Gamescom.

The percentage of Ubisoft’s business that came from PC went up 4 percent last year, so he believes that they are already on the right path to better engaging with the PC market.

The Sims 4 will lack more than just pools and toddlers

Fans of the Sims games might want to read this article, it could save you some disappointment later.

Previously it was announced that the next Sims game would not include toddlers or swimming pools, a decision that EA and Maxis tried to justify by saying that due to the new game engine they had made the game in. Of course, they said that pools could be added at a later date either as part of a DLC or as a free update. What they didn’t say though was that the new engine seems to have stopped them adding quite a lot more.

The-Sims-4-release-date

The people at ts4news.com put up a post earlier with a list of things that are either missing or in some way downgraded from the previous game, The Sims 3. It’s not a short list, not by a long shot. Divided into categories of Major Features that are Missing, Major Features Severely Curtailed, Other Missing Gameplay Features, Missing Objects, Crippled Game Features and a list of changes they can’t yet confirm, the list includes just under 90 features or objects that are missing or limited. These include the lack of aliens, acne, teens who look very similar to Adults and Elders (same heights), flat, limited number of lots, no terrain landscaping tools, no Mac release of the game at launch and much much more.

Go check out the full post linked below, and stay tuned into the news about this game to see if this correct. Because if it is, EA have made one heck of a limited new game engine for the Sims and that doesn’t bode well for the consumer.

#Gamescom2014: Warlords of Dreanor cinematic and release date announcement

Wow-Warlords of Draenor

So, the World of Warcraft: Warlords of Draenor live event just finished and we have the release date for Warlords of Draenor now…

13th November 2014!

The release date was dropped at the end of the reveal of the new game cinematic leading into Warlords of Draenor.

The trailer shows Grommash Hellscream stepping up to drink the deamons blood from Gul’Dan, however, unlike the events of The Burning Crusade, this time Garrosh (Grommash’s son) has forewarned Grommash of the treachery and Grommash throws away the deamon blood.   Mannanoth then appears for destroy them all for their failure, but Garrosh has bought future weapons and helps Grommash kill mannanoth, forever changing the future of Draenor and Azeroth!

you can watch the full new cinematic below:

The other new thing Chris Metzen from Blizzard showed off during the event, was the new 5 part Lore animated shorts, Lords of War!  Chapter 1, Kargath Bladefist and the birth of the Shattered Hand clan.

The mostly stylised motion comic design is very appealing and really conveys the story of this early boss in Burning Crusade (One I very much enjoyed taking down and getting his fist as a weapon 😀 )

These lore animated shorts will be released on a weekly basis, so stay turned for more of those

You can watch the first episode of Lords of War below:

See you all in Draenor!

(Thanks to Gamespot for the videos and the live stream!)

Metal Gear Solid 5’s Steam future accidentally leaked by Konami

As gamers we always wonder about game releases. When is a game coming out? Is it going to be delayed? Is it worth pre-ordering or getting the special edition, or should I wait until it’s on its first sale? Is this game coming to any platform I own? We hope to hear news of any sort of confirmation, especially if it comes from an official source. So it’s always satisfying when we get that news, and when it’s a leak made by accident it somehow makes it better.

Earlier Konami accidentally posted confirmation that the latest Metal Gear Solid game will have a PC port on Steam. Before the Konami presentation at Gamescom. Oops. The link didn’t go anywhere, taking anyone clicking to it to an error page. It was also quickly pulled down but not before some people got screenshots like the one above. Hideo Kojima has since confirmed that the leaked confirmation was for real.

Good news for those Metal Gear fans who prefer to do their gaming on custom build PCs.
