Blizzard has hinted that the next World of Warcraft expansion will be announced at BlizzCon 2013.
Speaking to IGN in an interview at Gamescom, game director Tom Chilton explained that World of Warcraft’s upcoming patch 5.4 “has the final raid tier for Mists of Pandaria” and that “there will be another content patch to bridge the storyline between Mists of Pandaria and the next expansion.”
When asked when fans might be able to expect that next expansion to be announced, Chilton simply said, “Well, you should pay attention at BlizzCon. See what comes up.”
Chilton’s comments are hardly surprising, as this wouldn’t be the first time a new WoW expansion was announced at BlizzCon. Wrath of the Lich King was announced at BlizzCon 2007, Cataclysm was revealed during BlizzCon 2009, and Mists of Pandaria’s announcement followed at BlizzCon 2011. This means 2013 would fit the schedule perfectly for a new expansion to Blizzard’s MMO.
BlizzCon 2013 will take place on November 9 and 10 at the Anaheim Convention Center in California. World of Warcraft’s Patch 5.4: Siege of Orgrimmar will be released on September 10th. For much more on what’s new, see the notes on Blizzard’s official site.
We saw a sneak peak of the companion in action at E3 earlier this year, but here’s a really good look at how the tablet version works

Ok, ignoring the change to voice actors (the new guys are good, but Kevin Conroy is Batman, just like Steve Blum is Wolverine!), this new boss trailer looks awesome
