As a part of a larger investigation involving the attacks that brought down the PlayStation Network and Xbox Live last year, UK’s South East Regional Organized Crime Unit arrested an 18-year-old male last week.
The statement released to USA Today cited not only the DDoS attacks on Sony and Microsoft but also numerous swatting offenses

Australian retailer EB Games will remove The Elder Scrolls Online from its bricks and mortar shelves on January 13, a Kotaku AU source claims. If the report is true then it serves as fresh evidence that Bethesda intends to scrap the MMO’s monthly subscription fees in favour of a free-to-play model.
Both boxed copies of the game, as well as pre-paid subscription cards, will reportedly be discontinued.
The development follows news late last year that players can no longer purchase six-month subscriptions to the MMO, which was met with mixed reviews when it launched last year. While a moderator on an official French TESO forum claimed the six-month blocks were discontinued due to lack of demand (ie, customers prefer to buy shorter blocks), evidence is certainly mounting that a change is imminent.
We will keep you upto date on this story, as we’ve not reviewed the game since release, however if Free to Play does happen, we’ll have another look at the game which we were underwhelmed by during the betas
Hard to believe, but as of today, it has been exactly 20 years since the very first PlayStation console first graced the space beneath gamer’s TVs. To celebrate this landmark anniversary, Sony have decided to take gamers on a trip down memory lane, announcing a limited edition design for the PS4. The special 20th Birthday PS4 design decks the PS4 console, controllers, PlayStation Eye camera and even the cables connecting it all in the original PlayStation’s grey colour; and incorporates design licks from the olden days such as bringing back the original Red, Green, Yellow and Blue colouration of the PlayStation logo. In tribute to the December 3rd Birthday, just 12,300 consoles are being released in the new design.
Sony is also giving the PS4’s firmware some retro love as well, with a brand new PSOne-style theme becoming available in the latest firmware update – and even if you already have a PS4 or don’t want (or don’t manage to get) the limited edition design, you’ll be able to get the new theme too. It even comes complete with the vintage PSOne-era start-up sound! The firmware update for the internal nostalgia makeover should be live already, while pre-orders for the limited edition PS4 design are expected to start December 6th.
