The trailer for Dragon Age: Inquisition was shown off earlier on the E3 stage as part of the Xbox presentation today.
The trailer was narrated by the main character, a person touched by ‘chaos’ and living in a world in constant turmoil. In the game you play this character, being hunted by forces who wish to restrain you due to the powers you control, through a huge world filled with interesting places and fascinating characters and dangers.
Dragon Age: Inquisition is due out in the autumn for the Xbox One, Xbox 360, Playstation 4, Playstation 3 and PC.
On the stage at E3, a new game play video for the Assassin’s Creed Unity game was shown off as part of the Xbox presentation today. In it was shown off the setting of France during the Revolution, just as the working classes hungered for the lives of the nobility and demonstrated the co-op function of the game which was revealed yesterday in a banner at the event.
In it the player used the skills the Assassin’s Creed franchise is known for to get inside a palace with three other players, quickly and silently making their way through to a ball where the target noble and main target was quickly and swiftly dispatched. The screen was mostly set on one player but changed towards the end to show a four-way split-screen view that hankered back to old days of local multiplayer gaming.
Assassin’s Creed is an open-world stealth and attack game due to come out on the Xbox One, Playstation 4 and PC later on this year.
CD Projekt RED is known primarily for The Witcher series, and the new entry has been highly anticipated with gamers eager to continue the adventures of Geralt of Rivia. It shows some gorgeous open environments as well as showcasing the Wild Hunt and giving us a look at some of the story driven moments and plot points in the game. Details have emerged of a new Sony studio set to reveal its first project at E3. The studio is named Pixel Opus and is partially the result of a program where Carnegie Mellon students were allowed to work with Sony Computer Entertainment America executive producer Alex Lee as part of their coursework.
The students produced prototype games for the Vita as part of their studies, which led to a number being taken on as interns with Sony and eventually hired. The studio, mainly made up of students who have now graduated Carnegie Mellon, have been working hard to get their first project finished in time. Lee says that although a number of programs like this one have been available at established universities for a while, they’ve been gaining in relevance and it’s only recently that their effect has begun to be felt by the industry.
We can only wait and see what the project they are presenting will be.
