Current European developer trends in relation to gaming platforms were revealed when the results of The GDC Europe State of the Industry 2014 Survey were published today.
Console wise, despite Microsoft’s strong showing at E3 a higher percentage of developers either were currently developing for the Playstation 4 or planned to for their next game, 18 per cent and 33 per cent respectively; as opposed to just 13 per cent currently developing for the Xbox One and 23 per cent planning to make their next game for Microsoft’s console.
Beating out the consoles though were the number of developers currently developing for PC and mobile, with 58 per cent working on a PC title and a massive 65 per cent developing a mobile title. Future development aims beat out the consoles too with 60 per cent looking at PC and 64 per cent at mobile.
Trends also suggested that while currently the percentage of crowd funded projects in Europe were low, almost 41 per cent of developers were considering using crowd funding to finance their next projects.
The full details of the survey can be found here on the Game Developers Conference website.

Yes Captain pack owners start in the first of the three phases of Early Access roll out, but what else?
Well honestly, not much that I (or Digmbot) can see looking at the webpage
Now I admit, we’re AT LEAST a year away from release, but am I tempted to buy a founders pack?
Yes, but not the main factions, instead, I’ll be buying the £5.00 Ork founders pack instead
You can see all the founders pack options here
So, I’m still really interested in the game, I’ve been following Warhammer 40,000: Eternal Crusade for ages now and what Behaviour Interactive has shown so far is looking promising, but the pricing is a worry
In yet another instance of Amazon outing game release dates, a listing appeared today on Amazon Germany showing Batman: Arkham Origins Complete Edition. According to the page, the games is slated to release on August 21. Of course, no details were included in the listing. Howeve,r the bundle’s name would seem to indicate that the game would include all of the DLC released for the game. This would, of course include Cold, Cold Heart, based on Mr. Freeze.
While the listing hasn’t been confirmed, if it is real, the complete edition would be released on PC, PS3 and Xbox 360. Fans may remember that all DLC for Arkham origins on Wii U has already been cancelled.
