WoW 4.3: Gilneas Reputation Mounts

In World of Warcraft: Cataclysm patch 4.3, we’ll be unlocking an additional set of Alliance mounts. We recognize that when players undertake a faction change to the worgen race, there are no Gilneas faction mounts to exchange for their original faction mounts. Players who do so see their total number of mounts decrease.

With the patch, we’ll be adding Gilneas faction mounts to the stables of Azeroth. Alliance characters with exalted Gilneas reputation will now be able to claim these additional mounts to add to their own stables (and achievement numbers).

Click on the images below for a preview of what’s coming:

We hope you’ll visit the new Gilneas faction mount vendor to pick out a steed to call your own.

WoW 4.3: Warrior Tier 13 and Visual Retrospective

Adventurers will be tested like never before in 4.3 as they take on Deathwing and his minions, emerging with powerful new treasures. Please enjoy this preview of the warrior tier 13 set, as well as a visual guide to tiers 1 through 12 for Transmogrification purposes.

Warrior – Colossal Dragonplate

A simple concept – let’s make a Warrior Tier that looks like Deathwing! Gnarled dragon horn and angular elementium plating with burning fire behind it were the key ingredients.

The shoulder pads and helmets are uniquely modeled for each set, and that gives us great opportunities to create eye-catching silhouettes. In this instance, the sweeping horn shapes ensure a powerfully brutal-looking set for warriors.

PlanetSide 2 News – Free To Play Confirmed

In an interview translated from a Chinese gaming site, it has been revealed that Planetside 2 will be free to play. Planetside-Universe has confirmed with John Smedley that the game will be free to play but that "the specific details of the charges has not been determined".

Smedley indicated that he was unwilling to reveal any details about the F2P model but did drop a small hint in the form of "we like League of Legends a lot".

Additionally, Planetside Universe found out that the team is shooting for beta by the end of this year but will not commit to anything more than "It's ready when it's ready and we are proud of it."

Deadpool to be Redeemed

Producer promises to do right by the character following the X-Men Origins: Wolverine debacle.

Producer Lauren Shuler Donner has been talking up plans for a Deadpool movie, stating that the filmmakers will endeavour to do right by the character having made a hash of 'The Merc with a Mouth' in X-Men Origins: Wolverine.

Ryan Reynolds as Deadpool.

"He was treated totally wrong in the Wolverine film" she told Total Film. "And yes we will redeem him."

Donner said there is still a fair way to go before the film goes into production, explaining "We have a few more things to do, and then it's up to the studio whether we're going to move forward or not."

But Ryan Reynolds is still attached to play Wade Wilson should they get the green-light, and Donner sounds optimistic on that front, stating "I'm pretty excited. We have a good script and a good director."

As previously reported, that director is Tim Miller, the special effect wiz whose previous credits include X-Men and X2.

BioWare Delays Old Republic Beta Invites for European Players

BioWare has unfortunately had to delay beta testing invites for players in Europe who were hoping on getting their hands on Star Wars: The Old Republic a bit early.

Says BioWare:

"After a lengthy discussion here at the BioWare offices, the decision has been made to postpone the proposed Game Testing invites for EU players for a number of reasons.

Firstly, there's a new build of the game on the horizon. This is a major build, meaning there will be character wipes and a new client to download. As you may be aware, the current client download is around 27GB in size. If we were to invite players en masse today, those players would have to download the entirety of the client to access the game. There's every chance that later this week, the service will go offline and this new version will be rolled out, meaning everyone currently in Testing will have to not only download the entire client again (another 27GB download), but will also have their characters erased and have to start afresh. This is a relatively large amount to download in such a short space of time and not an experience we want new testers to be exposed to.

Secondly, this new build will bring about the first localised versions of Star Wars: The Old Republic, which means those of you that speak French and German will have the chance to play the game in those languages, for the first time ever. We're extremely excited to be able to offer this to our players and as such, we're keen to get a lot of feedback from European testers in particular."

We don't have any info on exactly when European players will be able to get their hands on the game, but we have every confidence that BioWare and EA are doing everything in their power to get the beta out there to as many players, globally, as possible.

In the meantime, however, check out http://www.swtor.com/ for more information on the game.
