So, Civ VI has finally launched and like every major release there's going to be some teething issues at first. In Civ's case, it's the mysterious case of the missing team multiplayer.



A lot of people on Reddit have been chatting about this seeming oversight, but a little investigation into the game has revealed that actually, the feature is in the game, just turned off. The code's in place and everything, it just seems to be disabled for the moment, and an advistory is in place that suggests that the team pulldowns will be disabled "until day 0 patch" of the game. Only said patch doesn't seem to have actually unlocked it for players.



However, these same Reddit users have managed to find out that you can switch it on manually and that team multiplayer will function as normally (seemingly) if you change just one line in the StagingRoom.lua file that is saved in your Civilization VI folder on your PC. Of course, given that this is a manual change you're making, it's a given that you do so at your own risk.
