Piranha Games and InfiniteGame Publishing have announced Mech Warrior Online. Little else is known about the game other than its tentative release date of late 2012.
Piranha Games was "rebooted" over three years ago and announced that it was working on a Mech Warrior title in 2009. In early 2011, Piranha obtained the rights to the Mech Warrior IP. After researching various revenue models, the team has decided to adopt a free to play / microtransaction system.
Mech Warrior Online is being developed as a PC title. Fans interested in the game can register their pilot's name on the official Mech Warrior Online site.
