[BLOG] Blizzard cancel secret MMO project Titan

After a period of about seven years, Blizzard have announced that they've decided not to continue with project Titan, having not found whatever spark made World of Warcraft work for them.
In an interview with Polygon the developer spoke about the project and said that the team just "didn't find the fun" in the game.
"We talked about how we put it through a reevaluation period, and actually, what we reevaluated is whether that's the game we really wanted to be making. The answer is no." said Blizzard boss Mike Morhaime.
While he admitted that the idea of Titan had some cool hooks they just couldn't find the idea coming together properly, finding that it couldn't distill and that the music didn't flow properly through the experience meaning that they had to make the call about not continuing with the project.
He also admitted that Blizzard weren't wanting to be known as the "the MMORPG company", although with a bunch of other games of different genres to WoW on their roster (Heroes of the Storm, Starcraft II, Hearthstone) it's fair to say that MMORPG isn't the only genre Blizzard have been shown to do well with. Morhaime did say that another MMO wasn't to be ruled out in Blizzard's future though.
It just won't be Titan.
