Minecraft cartography is about to get much easier.
Are you sick of getting lost while exploring the vast expanse of blocky turf in your latest Minecraft realm? Join the club. The good news is that Notch is cooking up a means to help keep better tabs on the seemingly endless landscape in Minecraft. While most of the work going into update 1.6 is aimed at squashing a medley of irritating bugs, it will add a sweet new mapping feature.
Each map you craft centers on the location it was made, it fills in. There's only a limited amount of space on each map, so you'll need quite a few to plot larger sections of your world. Change made to the terrain will also appear on the map once you get close enough, and there will be several levels of zoom available. Notch is still working out the details and ironing out a few kinks, but this is one feature we're looking forward to playing around with.
