Yesterday in EA's conference we heard that the Star Wars Battlefront game is due to get a VR expansion in the holiday season, based off the upcoming Rogue One film. Today we discovered that it wasn't the only one coming soon.

Announced during streams, the Death Star expansion will bring a new multi-stage game mode- Battle Station - to Battlefront. The first will be a battle in space between the Rebels and Empire, bringing space dogfighting into a game in response to fans asking for it; the second will take part inside the corridors of the Death Star as the Rebels enter to try and locate and rescue R2D2 (who will be playable!) and will involve much more close-up combat; the third and last part will take part along the surface of the Death Star as you fly your ships in for a trench run on the Death Star in an attempt to destroy it.

As part of it new playable heroes will be available, the Rebels getting Luke Skywalker inside of Red Five with two wingment included; while the Empire will get Vader in his ship, again with two wingmen. Also outside of the space battles other playable heroes are entering the game now, including Chewbacca.

The Death Star expansion will be releasing a bit sooner than the afore-mentioned Rogue One expansion, releasing during the month of September some time.
