After revealing the system requirements they recommend to be able to use the second version of their Oculus Rift headset, Oculus have made a further blog post to inform users that they’ve taken the decision t0 puase development on the OS X and Linux versions of the hardware in order to focus more on developing a high-end Windows model.
The blog posted, written by chief architect and technical director Atman Binstock explained the reasoning on Oculus’ end. Basically they want to be sure they can deliver a high-end experience to the majority of users before they expand into making the headset work on more operating systems.
“Our development for OS X and Linux has been paused in order to focus on delivering a high quality consumer-level VR experience at launch across hardware, software, and content on Windows.” stated Binstock. “We want to get back to development for OS X and Linux but we don’t have a timeline.”

After two years of development time, Double Fine has finally given a release date to their turn-based game Massive Chalice. The game will ship with a bunch of improvements as it enters version 1.0 with rebalancing to make the game more challenging and controller support for the Steam version on June 1st.
Writing on the game’s official forums administrator Spaff broke the news to the fans:
“It’s been two years since we started on our quest for the MASSIVE CHALICE, and we’re excited to say that our journey is nearly at an end! After many months of designing, building, reading through our early access feedback, and playing the game for hours on end, we’re finally in lockdown. That means the team is in the final stages now; working purely on bug fixing, performance, and polishing things up, in between sending builds off to Microsoft for certification.”
To celebrate the launch the Double Fine Twitch will be streaming the game on the day of release, so if you’re unsure make sure you catch that to help you make up your mind.

Divinity: Original Sin, a PC game that was released last year, has been announced to have ports coming to both the Xbox One and the Playstation 4. It’ll be an overhauled version of the original and what’s more, it’s also coming to PC!
Divinity: Original Sin: Enhanced Edition will be free for all owners of the original game and is essentially the result of a patch gone too far according to developer Larian. Developed for over a year, the re-release will overhaul the graphics and add a 360 camera as well as an entirely new ending, new game modes, locations and quests. DirectX 11 will be supported, although support for 32-bit Windows will be dropped.
The vanilla version will remain available for those unwilling or unable to upgrade their game too.

Oculus have been building the second version of their popular Oculus Rift VR headset for a while now, with devkits having already been sold and distributed around the world. In some cases they’ve had to stop distributing to some parts because of resellers.
Now Oculus have announced the system requirements they recommend to get the “full Rift experience” on a computer. They’re quite high but not so high that they’d only work on the toppest end of computers.

Here’s the list in case you’re interested:
- NVIDIA GTX 970 / AMD 290 equivalent or greater
- Intel i5-4590 equivalent or greater
- 8GB+ RAM
- Compatible HDMI 1.3 video output
- 2x USB 3.0 ports
- Windows 7 SP1 or newer
“The goal is for all Rift games and applications to deliver a great experience on this configuration,” reads the Oculus blog post. “Ultimately, we believe this will be fundamental to VR’s success, as developers can optimize and tune their game for a known specification, consistently achieving presence and simplifying development.”
Oculus hope to hold this configuration throughout the device’s lifetime and will eventually drop in price as time goes on.
The Oculus Rift is expected to launch early 2016.
