The items that will be available to those purchasing the virtual tickets for this year’s Blizzcon have been revealed today by Blizzard and they include an item for players of every one of Blizzard’s properties.
First is the items for their mostly widely known game, World of Warcraft. As part of the tie-in to the upcoming Warlords of Draenor expansion release the WoW item this time round is an exclusive pet: a baby Murloc who seems to be cosplaying as Grommash Hellscream, the leader of the Warsong clan.
For Hearthstone players the item is a new and exclusive card back for Blizzcon 2014, designed around the compass design that is emblazened in the Blizzard courtyard.
Starcraft II players can receive a pair of portraits, one of Hierarch Artanis and the second to be revealed at a later date, as well as a decal inspired by the upcoming Heroes of the Storm MOBA game.
Speaking of Heroes of the Storm, even this not-yet-released game gets an item in the virtual ticket pack. Purchasers can receive a Nexus Mount as well as a portrait of the mysterious Nexus Brawler for the game.
Finally if you’re a Diablo III player the items on offer are six different weapon transmogrifications, one for each class in the game, based again on the upcoming Warlords of Draenor.
Blizzcon is happening at the beginning of November. Our glorious leader Lonesamurai has already decided that he’s buying a virtual ticket to watch the event and receive the listed goodies. What about you?
To help you get prepared for the upcoming Warlords of Draenor Patch 6.0.2 release, we’ve uploaded the patch data to the background downloader. By downloading the patch in advance, you’ll be ready to get in-game and start playing as soon as the expansion goes live!
If you have issues during this process, you can find help to resolve them on the support site here.
You can adjust your download settings within the Battle.net desktop app by clicking on the Battle.net symbol and selecting “Settings” from the menu. Under Game Install/Update you’ll be able to adjust your download options for each of your games and enable or disable the background download, adjust the rate for your download, or pause it if you have a restriction on daily downloads.
Those of us who’ve been waiting for our chance to play GTA V on the PC are being made to wait the longest. It’s not fair I know. But while we wait we can at least console ourselves with the details of the improvements we’ll be getting over the console versions.
And today someone’s found a cached Rockstar site that hints at another new feature, one that was previously only available in GTA IV through a mod. A first-person view will be available both within vehicles and while on foot, allowing you to really get down into the open-world and explore as you would a real-life city. The vehicle version will even have ” working speedometers, tachometers, dash lights, and more.” Ooh!
This comes as addition to all the other new features announced such as a greater wildlife diversity, updated radio soundtracks with new tracks and new voiceovers, heavier traffic, thicker foliage… it really does sound like it’ll be worth the wait. Here’s hoping.
The PC port of GTA V will come out January 27th.

One of the success stories of Youtube’s media revolution has been the emergence of large partner network groups who often manage and direct groups of creators from smaller video makers to the biggest personalities. One such partner network is that of Fullscreen (indeed it’s the network our very own Digmbot is in), and today George Strompolos posted a blog post to announce Fullscreen’s next big step.
Fullscreen is entering into a partnership with Otter Media, a joint venture between The Chernin Group and AT&T. The reason this is so important is that The Chernin Group bring the value of wider entertainment experience to the group, while AT&T are an experienced business who are leaders in mobile and also TV. Basically, Fullscreen is expanding out of the new media market and beginning to get involved in the longer-standing forms of media.
The aim is to expand Fullscreen from being just a pool of online creators to being something that will create programing for young adults of today, working with the young adults of today and the talent they can provide. It will also provide new tools in the Fullscreen Creator Platform as well as providing the opportunity for more sponsorships, live events and original programming.
It’s a symbol of just how important and revolutionary the new media wave of young online creators has become over the last few years.
Here at the Sanitarium.FM we love MMOs. And we love decorating games, like Animal Crossing. It may have something to do with Lonesamurai keeping us all locked in padded cells all week, but whatever the reason, all of us are suckers for collecting shiny things and then painstakingly arranging them in digital spaces. Which may be why we love Wildstar so much. The housing system in the game is not only addictive, its also functional. Make a garden. Have your own mining plot. Stick a chair to the ceiling and watch Novindus try to figure out how to sit in it while you all spam the laugh emote. Whatever suits your fancy. Now, Carbine is scratching our itch for building elaborate Victorian style mansions covered in books, severed Lopp heads and gratuitous Protostar promotional posters in a massive way.
Thats right folks, Drop 3 has been detailed, and it’s all about the housing. Right off the bat, the team is giving us a huge increase in how many items can be placed. Run out of room to place things about your plot? No worries. With drop 3 you’ll be able to place up to 1,000 decor items both indoors and out. This is a huge increase from the current limit of 800 interior and 300 exterior items. In addition, more lighting, musical selection, separate privileges for gardens and even a blank housing choice are being added. On top of that, the team is talking about letting you move FABkits and including new base terrains. Theres literally a ton of stuff, and it would take me literally hours to write it all up. So…I’m going to link the Nexus Report video below! ENJOY!
