The Forest has a bit of a reputation. It's still in Early Access but enough people have played it for us to know that as a game it can be terribly frustrating but still somehow great fun, despite the several things that could end your survival run. It's fairly realistic if you ignore the mutant cannibals.

Now Endnight Games are bringing out a patch that will allow you to share that experience with a friend in what they've called their "first pass" at a co-op mode for the game. Obviously this does mean it's still full of bugs, the most major of which is that saving a co-op game wipes a single-player save although a fix is being worked on to stop this from happening.
