Total War: Shogun II is being ported to Mac

The Total War series is a fairly popular and well-liked series of strategy games. While its cousin Rome II has been the one being talked about most recently, being patched and re-patched over and over, it’s Shogun II that has been announced to be getting a port to Mac.

The people doing the port is Feral Interactive, no stranger to the Total War series having also handled the ports of Rome 1 and Empire, as well as the ports for Civ 4 and XCOM and its expansion; they’re also the ones responsible for porting each new Tomb Raider game to the Mac. So there’s experience and pedigree there, which is a good sign that the port will be done properly for users of Apple’s computering system. They say that they’re happy to be doing the port of Shogun II specifically as they see it representing a “unique expression of the Total War series’ magnificent heritage” set in a location that pays homage to Japan’s culture and art.

No release date yet, only that Mac users should be expecting it “soon”.
