Livestream Report: #GameBlast15 24-hour stream!

Hey there listeners and readers. PredictedCyborg here, fresh off being chat moderator, streamer and that-cyborg-in-the-call for our GameBlast 2015 stream that came to an end about 20 minutes ago.

GameBlast 2015 was an event that asked gamers to stream games for charity, fundraising for Special Effect – raising money for special technology to help people with physical and mental disabilities join in with our favourite pass time of playing video games. It’s one that’s very worthy.

We decided to do our 24-hour stream on the theme of “space games”, although we used that definition loosely and at some points we might have totally ignored it for the sake of streaming with someone who’d actually slept. Digm started us off with Elite: Dangerous in which he continued with his bounty hunting and was joined in a Skype call by others including guest FieryToad who proved to be very informative about certain aspects of the game ranging from ships, upcoming content and piracy in Elite. Afterwards Lonesamurai took over for a while streaming some Space Hulk and other games with a continuing Skype call that had people coming and going.

Come midnight and Scarlet took over stream for the night shift with some games, starting off with Alien: Isolation and using those of us still in the call to help her stave off some of the creep factor. Lone came back in the early hours of the morning with some more Elite, but with space trucking being the focus before rotating in some other games and eventually myself for a few hours. I played Hearthstone and Lone used Spectator Mode to enable it to stream. This later led to us discovering that it was possible to spectate both people’s hands if you had both on your friend list, which was a pleasant surprise and one we’ll need to remember exists for future tournaments. Finishing off for the last five hours Scarlet played some Grow Home while we talked about things and then Lone came back to fill the last few hours with Shadow of Mordor and finally some Supreme Commander 2.

We raised a total of £61.41/$94.56 but the donation box isn’t closed yet! If you missed our streams but still want to donate click the link provided below.

Thanks to everyone who tuned in to watch and listen to us, thank you to all who donated, thank you for the promotion of our stream, thanks for the suggestions for games we could play and thanks to Neko, Ranger, Toad, Zeoste and everyone who joined us in call. You all totally rock. 😀
