Descent: Underground is funded, just

The Descent series has been around since the 90s, throwing up to four players into spaceships flying around an asteroid mine. The aim was to blast your opponents without crashing or getting blasted yourself. Recently the original team launched a Kickstarter for a sequel called Descent: Underground.

The campaign has been funded, but it was a close call. The target of $600,000 was met with just hours to spare and upon close the target had only been exceeded by around $1,000. Fortunately the website of the studio, Descendent Studios, is continuing to take funding so it’s hoping that some stretch goals could still be met with a new ship being added to the game for each.

The game itself looks pretty nice too, being made in Unreal Engine 4 and following the same basic gameplay format of 4-player, blast your friends and try not to die. However the modern twist comes in that it will be made to work with the Oculus Rift and the HTC Vive, allowing players to experience the action virtually as they play. There’ll also be a level of customisation for ships available too.
