“Developed by the creators of Grand Theft Auto V and Red Dead Redemption, Red Dead Redemption 2 is an epic tale of life in America’s unforgiving heartland. The game’s vast and atmospheric world will also provide the foundation for a brand new online multiplayer experience.”

“With Red Dead Redemption 2, the team is working hard to push forward our vision for interactive entertainment in a truly living world,” said Sam Houser, Founder of Rockstar Games. “We hope to deliver players an epic experience that builds upon everything we’ve learned making games.”

Yes, as seen above, the game will include a brand new online multiplayer experience. It may be a while to wait, but we will be getting a new trailer this Thursday at 4pm, and we’ll bring you more info, as soon as we have it!

Titanfall 2’s singleplayer about the story of human and bot bonding

Titanfall 2 will include a singleplayer element, this is something that is well known by now. A singleplayer component was one of the things people wanted to see in Titanfall, so the inclusion of it makes sense really. Of course, Titanfall was built to be multiplayer so could it really work out?

Respawn have unveiled more details about the single-player campaign, building on the one pilot and his robot we saw in trailers at Gamecom earlier this year. The singleplayer campaign will contain puzzles to solve, boss fights and most importantly for them, decision making and an AI companion on your titan robot. Your titan will have a mind of their own and part of the singleplayer experience will be that bond you build with the robot. Sounds cool.

Respawn have also said that there will be secrets to find, so I look forward to seeing all the videos on Youtube showing me where they are within a week of the game’s release. Speaking of which, October 29th. Mark the day down in your calendar.

Here’s hoping that the singleplayer will let Titanfall 2 stick around a bit longer in the consciousness of the gamers than its predecessor did.

Forza Horizons 3 Oct 14 patch will fix PC stability issues

When Digmbot played Forza Horizons 3 on stream, he immediately noticed that there were some… issues with the game’s running on PC. To put it mildly. Seems like more people have had similar issues, because an incoming patch will hopefully improve stability across a number of PC setups.

The October 14 patch will go live at 7pm PT (3am BST) and Turn 10 say that the update will include “numerous stability and performance improvements for the game across a variety of Windows 10 PC hardware configurations, as well as fixing numerous gameplay issues to improve game stability on PC.” They also say that performance and stability will be a top priority for them and Playground Games going forward, being the focus of future updates too. So hopefully fewer crashes for PC players from now on.

Of course, other things are included in the patch and that includes your standard bug fixes, some rebalancing of certain factors and the introduction of new cars to the Tombola level-up spins.

For the full list of fixes and changes, check out the post on Forza’s site here.

Mafia III Framerates To Be Uncapped In Next Patch

One of the things that bugged people about Mafia III upon release is one of the most talked about topics in recent years concerning gaming – its framerate. Upon release it was discovered that Mafia III had been locked to just 30 frames per second, which caused more than a couple of people to ask why.

Well, the developers seem to have listened, as a new incoming patch (1.0.1) will give players the ability to uncap those framerates if they feel like they wish to. However, they’ve already warned that you might need some fairly hefty hardware to pull of 60 frames. Mafia III is an open-world game by its nature and already the game has been known to have the odd performance issue pre-patch. Hopefully some optimisation will also come with this patch, as well as future ones. The official line for the moment is “make sure to tailor the framerate settings to the power of your machine”. The patch also includes some changes to keyboard remapping, and will unfortunately reset any mapped keys you changed back to default so just be aware of that before you next turn the game on.

Future patches will begin to address fixing some of the bugs that people have been reporting around New Bordeaux, as well as adding in new features such as clothing and racing.

Overwatch Halloween stuff incoming – loot boxes and comic

During the summer while the Olympics were on, Overwatch had some Summer Game limited edition loot boxes in-game. Now it seems that they’re about to do the same with Halloween, as well as releasing a comic to boot.

overwatch halloween skins

Caught by a user on Reddit while browsing the Xbox Store, the photograph taken by the user reveals to us a bit about the next big special event in the Overwatch calendar. The end date for it is fittingly on November 1st, at 4pm PT, and if it follows a similar time period of availability as the Summer Games we can expect the boxes to show up sometime next week – possibly on Tuesday when the next patch goes in for the game. The box description seems to be written as such:

“Trick out your collection by picking up Halloween loot boxes, available for a limited time. Every loot box contains up to four cosmetic items, including at least one halloween skin, highlight intro, emote, victory pose, player icon, voice line or credits that you can use to unlock other items. More than 100 halloween items are waiting to be unwrapped!

“If your Halloween loot box contain an item that is already in your collection, you will instead receive coins.”

There’s also another hint to the ongoing Sombra teasing Blizzard have been getting in, with her logo appearing on the purple candy in the background. Whether this means that she’s going to pop up in some form during the Halloween celebrations before becoming an actual character (or maybe even a surprise addition to the game as playable!) before BlizzCon is unknown and probably being speculated on as a type this out.

As for the comic, it was first leaked through digital distributor Comixology’s subscription alert system and will involve Junkrat as a mad scientist, Mercy as what appears to be a witch and a Headless Horseman Reaper. It’s fittingly been named Junkenstein. It’ll be releasing on October 12th.
