Rocket League to get Back to the Future DeLorean DLC

In a piece of news that’s sure to excite fans of the movie, on October 21st 2015 the DeLorean time machine from the Back to the Future films will be made available as a playable car in Rocket League.

Really.

A game about cars playing football doesn’t exactly sound like the sort of game the DeLorean would be good for, but Rocket League is less about the car football and more about zipping around and flying through the air flipping over and over and getting into heated competition with your friends and fellow players so honestly, it fits for Rocket League.

Writing on the Playstation Blog, developers Psyonix revealed their joy at getting the iconic vehicle added to their game: “We used to fantasise and joke about having the DeLorean Time Machine in our game months before it even came out. We were all such huge Back to the Future fans here at Psyonix, that it was one of the few ‘Holy Grails’ we had hoped for besides having a hit game.”

They’ve worked hard to create the vehicle’s classic feel in game, with folding jet wheels and a rocket trail that resembles ‘burnt rubber’. The DLC will be made available soon for $1.99 or regional equivalent.
